Nippers is all about fun, friendship and building confidence at the beach.
For children from Under 6 to Under 14, our Nipper program introduces kids to surf lifesaving through beach and water activities, helping them become confident, capable and safe around the ocean — while having plenty of fun along the way.
At Tallebudgera, we’re lucky to have the best of both worlds. Our Nippers enjoy the surf out the front of the Club, with the calm waters of Tallebudgera Creek providing a great alternative when conditions are rough.
Sunday mornings are as much about community as they are about Nippers. Kids make friends, parents get involved, and we finish with our traditional sausage sizzle — a chance to catch up and enjoy being part of the Talle community.
We want every child and family to feel welcome, have fun and love being part of Nippers.
From their first season in nippers, children begin developing the skills and confidence to enjoy the beach and ocean safely.
With experienced coaches and accredited Age Managers, nippers learn surf awareness, swimming, board skills, beach activities and surf safety in a fun and supportive environment. As they progress through the age groups, they build on these skills and work towards age-appropriate surf lifesaving awards.
For kids who love a challenge, surf sports are another great part of nippers. Throughout the season, there are opportunities to take part in surf carnivals and compete in events such as swimming, board racing, beach sprints, flags and team events. Carnivals are a fun way to put new skills into practice, represent Talle and enjoy being part of the team.
Competition is completely optional — whether your child wants to race at carnivals, enjoy Sunday Nippers with their friends, or do a bit of both, there’s a place for them at Talle.
Whether your family is completely new to surf lifesaving or already part of the Talle community, we’d love to have you join us.
Ready to become a Talle Nipper? Joining is easy and can be completed online. You’ll find everything you need to get started below.
Children must be at least 5 years old by 30 September to participate in the Nipper season.
Fees
Junior Turtles (U6-U7 yrs) – $150
Nippers (U8-U14) – $200
Nipper Parents – $100
(at least one parent per family must be a member and have a Blue Card)
Nipper Family Membership – $550
(up to 2 adults & up to 3 nippers)

Join or renew your family membership through the Surf Lifesaving Hub.
Please note that at least one parent or guardian must also be a member of Tallebudgera SLSC and hold a Blue Card. You can use Play On! Vouchers for membership and participation costs.
Need help joining, renewing or transferring?
Visit the SLS Hub to create your account and join Tallebudgera SLSC.
1. Create an account
Create an SLS Hub account and follow the prompts to get started.
2. Find Tallebudgera SLSC
Select Join a Club, then search for and select Tallebudgera.
3. Set up your family group
At least one parent or guardian must join with their Nipper/s.
Select I am a parent/guardian (18+) looking to sign up my child/family, followed by I am looking to sign up myself and family members.
Create a Group/Family name to link your family members together.
4. Add your family members
Follow the prompts to enter the required details for each family member, including contact details, emergency contacts, parent/guardian information and declarations.
5. Select a Joining Fee for each member
Choose the appropriate membership option for each person. This may be an individual membership, Play On! Voucher, or Nipper Family Membership.
If selecting a Nipper Family Membership, choose the family membership for the primary family member, then select Included in family group for each additional family member covered by that membership.
6. Select any applicable Add-on Fees
Add-on fees are only relevant if your family group includes senior competitors (U15+) or patrolling members.
If these don’t apply to your family, simply continue to the next step.
7. Complete payment
Follow the prompts to complete your payment online.
Renew your family membership through the SLS Hub. If you don’t have an account yet, follow the prompts to create an account.
1. Sign in to the SLS Hub
Sign in to your SLS Hub account. Only one member aged 18+ per family needs to have an account to manage the family membership.
2. Check or create your Family Group
Using a Family Group allows you to renew family members together and access Nipper Family Membership options.
If you already have a Family Group, continue to Step 3.
If not, select More → Memberships → Family Group(s) → Create New Family Group, then follow the prompts to add your existing family members.
3. Renew your family members
From the Dashboard, select your Family Group, then Renew. Select the relevant Season, choose the family members you wish to renew and follow the prompts.
4. Select a Renewal Fee for each member
Choose the appropriate membership option for each person. This may be an individual membership, Play On! Voucher, or Nipper Family Membership.
If selecting a Nipper Family Membership, choose the family membership for the primary family member, then select Included in family group for each additional family member covered by that membership.
5. Select any applicable Add-on Fees
Add-on fees are only relevant if your family group includes senior competitors (U15+) or patrolling members.

6. Complete payment
Pay online using a card to complete your renewal.
If you’re currently a member of another surf lifesaving club, or have been a member in the past, you can request a transfer to Tallebudgera through the SLS Hub.
If you don’t have an SLS Hub account yet, follow the prompts to create one using your current or previous membership details.
1. Sign in to the SLS Hub
Sign in to your SLS Hub account, or create an account using your current or previous membership information.
Only one member aged 18+ per family needs an account to manage the family membership.
2. Check or create your Family Group
Using a Family Group allows you to manage and transfer family members together and access Nipper Family Membership options.
If you already have a Family Group, continue to Step 3.
If not, select More → Memberships → Family Group(s) → Create New Family Group, then follow the prompts to add your family members.
3. Request your transfer
From the Dashboard, select your Family Group, then Join/Transfer to a New Organisation. Select Tallebudgera SLSC, choose the family members you wish to transfer and select the appropriate transfer type:
Follow the prompts to submit your transfer request.
4. Wait for transfer approval
Your transfer won’t take effect until it has been approved by your current club.
Once approved, Talle will contact you with the next steps to finalise your membership, including applicable membership fees.

Once you’ve joined online, join us on 20th September to meet the team, complete your pool swim evaluation & purchase your nipper uniform. Each nipper needs a Club cap and hi-vis shirt to participate.
Can’t make Open Day?
No problem. Your nipper can complete their pool swim evaluation through their regular swim school using the form attached below and email to office@tallesurfclub.net.au. Uniforms can then be purchased from the Talle Office Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm.
Join the Tallebudgera SLSC Team App to stay up to date throughout the season. Team App is where you’ll find training schedules, calendars, carnival information, updates and important Nipper announcements, so make sure you’re connected before the season begins.
